I’m just looking

I’ve said it before but it’s amazing how songs/music can take you right back.

I Just heard a song on the radio it took me back 17yrs to when I was 22yrs.

I think it’s easy to put things to the back of my mind and not think about them, maybe they aren’t relevant anymore or I think I don’t need to think about them anymore.

Actually though it’s nice to look back and remember good times, things may be different now but different doesn’t have to mean bad.

In the last 17 years life has changed of course it has it’s not meant to stay the same~time moves on and the world keeps turning.

Hearing that one song brought up a memory~a happy one, with family and friends. Lots of singing, dancing and drinking!!

Before that memory would of made me sad but today I can smile and say do you know what~that was a wonderful day and it’s a memory I’ll always have.

The past is exactly that its made up of times gone by, good ones, bad ones and amazing ones.

Memories last a lifetime and I’m looking forward to making lots of new ones.❤️x

Date Night

Last night was date night.               Not only did we go out, we went out~out and stayed in a hotel!!

With four children between us getting time on our own isn’t always easy~big shout out to my parents for having mine for me.

To celebrate our freedom we went out for dinner and stayed up way past a reasonable bedtime hour~needless to say I’m rocking the sleep deprived look today.

I obviously packed enough stuff to last me a week somehow managing to forget shampoo though, but it was a good excuse to try out my new suitcase (always a bonus), the restaurant was so hot I began wondering if I was having a full on hot flush~I can’t tell you how relieved I was to discover that it wasn’t just me who was melting!!

The food was really good as was the company. We were the last to leave the bar when it closed, it was a short walk back to the hotel where we sat up chatting and drinking coffee until the early hours.
The journey home has been eventful~I’m not joking when I say there was a complete lack of services and I have never been so happy to see McDonalds in my life~if I could of ran in to use their bathroom I would of done.

Now currently sat on the motorway en~route to collecting the kids, who if their texts are anything to go by are looking forward to us coming back. Knowing my daughter that’s so that she can make me feel guilty for having a night away without them!
To sum it all up I’m tired but happy and smiling. What a fab way to start the summer holidays. There’s lots to look forward to including a holiday to Wales next week~all 6 of us. Good times❤️x

The holidays have landed

Day one of the summer holidays and someone had to be ill~might as well be me! A quick trip to the doctors to get some anti~biotics wasn’t exactly what I had in mind but at least we had a giggle when the pharmacist called out ‘did you say your name was Rosemary?’ No I didn’t it is in fact Natalie but maybe Rosemary’s got some better meds than me hehe.

Medication sorted we had a quick dash to town and then collected my girl from her lunch time finish.

We spent the afternoon celebrating a special girls birthday and crabbing~although sadly the crabs were some what lacking today. My boys ball managed to have a splash in the water not once but twice.

After one successful rescue, there was a patient wait whilst it bobbed itself across the water, I guess I should be thankful it was the ball and not him!

I came home to a fab present~a key finder fob, this has made my day, I’m constantly losing my keys. This does however mean I’ve lost one excuse for being late~no doubt I’ll replace that with a other one!

I’m now looking forward to a girls night in with my big girl~we’ve got control of the remote and popcorn and chocolate all ready to go. Happy Days.❤️x

Sunshine and raindrops

I can’t believe it’s Monday again, seriously you have to stop creeping up on me like this.

If time flies when your having fun then my life must be seriously fun right now, the days and weeks are disappearing quicker than any money in my bank account!

Not that I’m complaining~oh no not at all. This weekend we went shopping to get a few things for our upcoming holiday which we are all very excited about.

It was quite tiring with four kids in tow but we made it home relatively unscathed. The kids then all watched a film together and helped me paint nannys nails too, all in all a lovely day.

Unfortunately the weather had taken a turn for the worst and the rain was pretty heavy, not ideal for my night out with the girls that we had planned. We decided that we wouldn’t let a little rain stop us so we totally rocked the rain coats and wellies look and headed for the moreradioGarden Party to watch some fab bands play some great music.

We spent the evening laughing and dancing, at times with umbrellas too but hey we can all multi~task so it was still fun!

I decided it would be fun to record and share our wonderful singing and dancing~I’m sure this was entertaining for everyone at home, it was such a good atmosphere you couldn’t help but join in.

Later on that evening, I was sleeping downstairs as my parents had kindly babysit for me. Once ready for bed I turned the lights off and couldn’t find my phone for a light, I decided that I could easily climb over the back of the sofa~yes that part was easy although I didn’t anticipate almost rolling off the other side despite being sober, that could of been a painful landing! Clearly I felt younger than I actually am after all that dancing.

Sunday was a nice chilled out day, which is unusual because I can’t usually sit still for very long. It was kind of an enforced quiet afternoon as I wasn’t feeling great, after a snooze on the sofa I decided I really should feed the kids. Having decided that beans on toast was the nearest  I was going to get to cooking, I was almost distraught to find we had run of bread. Luckily my knight in shining armour went and got some for me,little things really do mean a lot.

As for this morning~it was the usual Monday morning scenario although I’ve finished work for the summer the kids still have school for two days. So there was a daily argument with my girl before I had even opened my eyes, this was followed by dropping my boy off for the last time at Junior school, and consequently dropping the bottle of wine that I had brought for his headteacher on my foot and smashing it!

I then went and was brave and had my eyebrows threaded for the very first time, I’m glad to say it didn’t hurt and I am very pleased with the result. I also brought some new shoes which prompted me to paint my nails and not get any house work done~still it’ll all be waiting for me tomorrow or the next day.

In no time at all it was time for my very last school run at the junior school. This is a journey I’ve been doing for 8yrs now and it seems like yesterday when I first visited the infant school next door when my daughter started.

In those 8 years my two have changed so much and so have I.         I know there are good things to come for all us and there are exciting times ahead. I look forward to those times with a big smile on my face.❤️x

Crazy little thing called love ❤️

This one is for some one who has come into my life and turned it upside down in a crazy but good kind of way.

Happiness is here again       Happiness my old friend.

You’ve been hiding for a while but you’ve come back to make me smile.

Sometimes laughter seems far away but you can always cheer my day.

You turned up in an expected way but I’m happy that your here to stay.

On this journey we call life there’s ups and downs and wrongs and rights.

If we can smile through the tears and look beyond those fears,I’m sure that we can rise above.

I guess that’s why it’s known as that crazy little thing called love.

                     ❤️x

Whose fault is it anyway?!

As if mornings weren’t bad enough for me on a daily basis anyway add into the mix a very stroppy teenager and you can all relate to where this post is going!!
When I say she could test the patience of a saint I am not exaggerating she takes not being a morning person to a whole new level!

I am most definitely not great in the mornings but I tend to keep myself quiet and drink my coffee, she however insists on dragging me into every drama possible including a problem with her socks and being tired~both of these things are of course my fault and mine alone!!!

Having dropped her off at school, i then began to question if I had turned off the washing machine~cue a mad dash home, to find a large truck blocking my drive, that was all I needed.

Of course the washing machine was turned off as I could of predicted. I then got stuck at roadworks and made it into work by the skin of my teeth~all this before 9am!

This afternoon I have several things to do which include making sure the kids are where they need to be etc as well as paperwork and housework that I simply can’t ignore any longer.

I am literally counting down the hours until I can plonk my backside on the sofa and have a cheeky cider and a hug from a special someone. Therefore roll on 10pm is all I have left to say.

Here’s hoping your all having a more relaxed Tuesday.❤️x

Dance with me tonight

Yesterday was spent mainly recovering from seeing Olly Murs!!

After lots of fun, dancing and screaming in his general direction I hate to admit it but I was shattered.

It’s safe to say we all had a good time and once my daughter had got over the embarrassment of me singing and dancing it was all good.

We were very lucky and had a fab view, the weather was lovely too. We had plenty of space to sit on the grass whilst waiting and some good music too.

Last night I attempted to watch the film ‘The girl on the train’ and fell asleep through the best bits oops! Might have to rewatch it to catch up, especially as my favourite programme has come to an end for now(first dates).

I’ve just seen that they are looking for people to take part in the next series. Now even if I was single there’s no way I could apply even if I wanted to~as we all know the thought of dinner on a first date isn’t my idea of fun.

I do think however it would prove to be good viewing as I would be so nervous and no doubt entertaining in a cringe worthy way!

On that note I must get myself ready. It’s nice to see the sun has made an appearance again this morning, let’s hope it stays for the summer.❤️x

Laughter

So yesterday was a funny day really, after a really fun night on Friday playing the most hilarious games ever on the Nintendo switch including milking a cow~I kid you not!! I found myself with the unenviable task of organising and sorting out my wardrobe, this has been on the agenda for a long time and certainly long over due.

After literally emptying it all I found that the only way to get out of my room was to climb over everything, having managed to escape I wasn’t keen on putting it all away.

Fortunately a few bin bags later and a pile for the charity shop it was complete.

I found a few blasts from the past some of which ended up rightly where they belong(in the bin) and some that made me feel a little sentimental things from when the kids were tiny etc. I love looking at those things but it does make you realise how quick time flies.

I was however thrilled to find two bottles of my favourite body lotion which put a smile on my face and I put to good use before I went out.

I met up with three friends and we went for a fantastic meal and a good gossip at www.briorestaurant.co.uk

I would definitely recommend a visit there, staff are very friendly and helpful and the food was lovely as always.

After a lovely eve where we decided we must have a road trip and try out indoor skydiving before attempting the real thing, I literally fell into bed, lack of sleep certainly caught up with me, plus I wanted to be full of energy for seeing Olly Murs later wahoo~I can’t wait!!

Happy Sunday everyone I hope you have a lovely day whatever your plans are.❤️x

Friday

So far my fitness challenge isn’t going very well~my get up and go has got up and done a runner~clearly it’s much more energetic than I am!

I’ve done zero exercise and certainly haven’t eaten well in fact I’m going to have curry tonight and then going out for dinner tomorrow night too~busy weekend coming up.

I’m hoping to make up for it though when I go and see Olly Murs on Sunday as no doubt I’ll be dancing for hours and busting some moves.

I’m so excited for that, it’ll be the second time I’ve seen him and I can’t wait.

Maybe the diet will have to be postponed until Monday~hmm we will see. I’ve got the motivation it’s the determination that I’m lacking.

Maybe after this busy weekend I’ll wake up refreshed and ready to start on Monday. Refreshed isn’t usually part of my vocabulary but let’s see!❤️x
