Love Always

I know I often talk about looking on the bright side and concentrating on the positives, I know I often talk about the kids. Something I don’t often talk about it is the fact that I have to share the kids time with their Dad. Don’t get me wrong sometimes when they’re driving me nuts one or two nights of peace is very well received! However there will always be times when ‘sharing’ them is harder.

Christmas time happens to be one of those times. Today has been a wonderful day catching up with my parents and brothers and sister. It felt really festive and nice to all be together under one roof for a change. As ever it was difficult to orchestrate everyone being there and sadly my two couldn’t be there with us.We alternate Christmas each year, this year they will be with their Dad on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day until approx 4pm. I can’t tell you how much it saddens me not to see their faces on Christmas morning. I can guarantee that on Christmas Eve I’ll wave them off with a big smile truly wanting them to have a fabulous time but as soon as that door shuts the tears will start.

I try my very best to think positively about it all~I know they will have an amazing time and then they get to come home and do it all over again.

I know I am truly blessed to have them and everyone else whom I love so very much in my life to share such good times with.

A conversation today reminded me again that life is far too short and we should all strive to be happy and spread happiness around us.

Christmas certainly makes us think about family and loved ones.

Today as I sat there amongst my loved ones I felt a whole lot of love in that one room.

Our own Christmas may be planned a little differently but hey different is good and I know that when we are altogether celebrating there will be a whole lot of love to go around and no matter what time of year it is that will never change.

No matter where we go or what we do the love that binds us will always be there.❤️x

Do you know that feeling when you’ve had plenty of time to get ready for a night out,a night out you’ve been looking forward to for ages? The feeling you get when everything as gone to plan and your ready on time, relaxed and ready to go?

Me neither~I can’t remember the last time that happened. Last night was our works Christmas night out and my preparation went something like this~ my morning started ridiculously early 4am to be precise, when I awoke coughing and streaming with cold. Not quite the start to the day I was hoping for.

Fast forward a few hours and I had picked the kids up from school, feeling tired and pretty rubbish, I jumped in the bath to try and warm up. After spending too long in said bath, I had to rush to get ready, obviously at this point nothing was going right my hair had a mind of its own and no amount of make up was going to disguise my red, sore Rudolph nose!

After refereeing several arguments between the kids (which I’m sure the neighbours loved hearing!) I dropped them off almost an hour later than intended. On my way back home I decided black tights weren’t what I wanted to wear so it was an impromptu visit to Tesco to buy some nude ones, never have I navigated a supermarket so quick and in heels I might add.

I quickly changed tights and shoes and left the house muttering to myself about not liking my outfit or quite frankly anything about myself, Having dosed myself up with cold relief tablets I was just about good to go.

Fortunately when I got there the atmosphere was great and everyone was jolly. After a lovely dinner we were soon up and dancing~pretty much taking over the dance floor.I have to say we totally owned the phrase ‘dance like nobody is watching’ we danced and sang pretty much non stop, stopping only to remove my very high heels and then my tights, and for the occasional drink of water.

I was pretty impressed that I made it until 11.30pm especially after such an early start. I was soon back and drinking the coffee that was ready and waiting for me, I was less than impressed with the cramp that made an appearance when I went to bed I must be getting too old for all this partying hehe.

As I didn’t drink I was hangover free this morning and had a quick trip to town, my poor legs didn’t really like the walk up and down ten flights of stairs in order to get a parking space but I’m looking on the bright side~that’s lots of exercise I’ve had.

Fortunately now my backside is firmly on the sofa and hopefully will continue to stay put. Happy Saturday everyone.❤️x

Weight loss Milestone

So tonight despite not wanting to go to slimming world at all for my Wednesday weigh in~I was thrilled to find out I have lost another 1lb which takes me to a total of 7.5lbs off.

I had literally convinced myself that I must of put on because it’s been such a busy week with two birthdays to celebrate which of course included cake, maybe some pizza and possibly some wine too!!

Despite all that I have changed my eating habits and am in a much better routine of having breakfast, lunch and dinner and not snacking in between. Believe it or not I am organising and planning my meals which definitely makes it easier to stay on track.

I’m also setting myself targets in the evenings to have everything done by 9pm and if it’s not done then it has to be left until the next day. This is so I can try and relax and get myself into bed at a better time and hopefully get some better quality sleep.

I think the sleep part might be the hardest part to crack but hey ho, one step at a time and all that jazz. Rome wasn’t built in a day!

I’ve now got to clear my bed which has pretty much the entire contents of my wardrobe thrown all over it because I was trying on outfits for our works Christmas do on Friday.

On a positive note now I’m half a stone lighter I have a few more possible outfits to chose from~here’s to the next half stone.❤️x

Rest and Recharge

Lets talk about a subject close to my heart~sleep or in my case usually lack of it!

I’ve been sent a new supplement Benenox to try. It contains vitamins, sustamine and honey.

To aid sleep and help your body recharge whilst you are resting.

I am looking forward to trying it, I can confirm that it tastes great and is available in two flavours~blackcurrant and honey and ginger.

I will keep you updated and let you know how I get on.

In the mean time you can find out more about it online.

*this product was sent to me to try all opinions are my own*

What a whirlwind weekend it’s shaping up to be.

Yesterday we celebrated another birthday a special little girl in our lives was 7yrs, we had a lovely day bowling and playing games followed by Pizza Hut and pug cakes! (Believe me when I say I’m trying hard to stick my diet!).

Today my big girl has gone off shopping with her friend on the train for the first time ever eek!!!

Obviously I know she’ll be fine, she’s responsible and sensible etc etc and yes you know that’s the mantra that is going over and over in my head and I’m quite sure will be until she’s home having spent all of her money(and mine!)telling me what a fab time she’s had.

How quick does the time fly?! It seems like only yesterday she herself was 7yrs old and now look! Time sneaks up without you realising.

Everything is sneaking up super fast now~my boy was asking how many days left at school, he then proceeded to inform me~as he does every day how close we are getting to Christmas~thanks son I don’t need reminding I need a win on the lottery and someone to come and organise my life hehe.

On that note I have confetti to hoover up because balloons filled with the stuff seemed like such a good idea until I dropped half of it on the carpet, uniforms to iron and the list goes on.

I guess I should start by getting out of the bath!

Happy Sunday everyone.❤️x

As I get dare I say it (older!) I find birthdays are far more exciting when they are some one else’s!!

I would quite happily stay aged 21yrs for a few more years thank you very much!

This week we have two special birthdays coming up, today being the first one and it’s my lovely boyfriends turn. Of course I was totally organised and didn’t stay up half the night trying to locate the presents I had hidden carefully and once found them wrapping them up,oh I lie that obviously happened, let’s face it though no one would expect anything less by now.

It was a lovely day, we managed to meet up for lunch and then had a fab after school get together for tea and birthday cake.

My wonderful parents babysat so we could also have the evening together too.

I really ought to be asleep by now but as ever I’m wide awake so decided to finish this post before attempting a few hours shut eye in the vain attempt of losing the rather fetching bags that I’m currently sporting underneath my eyes!

On that note I wish you all a good nights sleep at least in the morning it will be Friday~wahoo.❤️x

Win~Win Wednesday

It’s Wednesday also known as hump day. However today I shall name it win~win Wednesday!

This morning I was able to wear some jeans which haven’t fitted me for a while and then I had a small loss at slimming world. Only half a pound off but considering I’ve not stuck fully to plan this week I’m more than happy with that, after all it all adds up and as I always say it’s better off than on!

It’s been a better day in general thankfully, yesterday I felt a bit naff and couldn’t shake off the grumps. I did however get some beautiful flowers from my lovely boyfriend and that did make me smile.

Tonight though there was another classic in the crazy household

I was rushing around (just for a change!) and the oven decided it wasn’t going to heat up and cook anything in a hurry. All I wanted was a pizza done for the kids, not too much to ask I didn’t think.

Anyway I decided to put said pizza in the top oven to see if that would be better, a few minutes later I was questioning the strange smell coming from the oven when I realised that I hadn’t turned the oven on I had put the grill on aargh !!

The once very pale pizza was now cooked with very burnt edges, the kids obviously took pity on their stressed Mummy and assured me it was fine and actually they prefer it like that!! Bless them.

Happy #humpday everyone.❤️x

There are two things that are inevitable at the moment.

One is that Christmas is on its way and the second is that I’m unorganised.

Now I know that’s no surprise to anyone but even by my standards I feel particularly behind with Christmas preparations.

On Friday (1st December) I received my first Christmas card~I’ve not even brought any let alone written them! The kids were just as surprised and my daughter said and I quote ‘I thought we usually got cards on Christmas day’ hmm not that’s just because your mothers a nightmare!

I remember as a child when we got our advent calendars 24 days seemed like an absolute eternity to wait for the big day~these days those 24 days are approaching a little too quickly for my bank balances liking.

Despite the panic and the worry, I know it will all be sorted in time and I will promise myself that next year I’ll be better prepared etc etc, somehow I doubt the latter but still a girl can dream.❤️x

Sunday night blues

As ever the weekend has absolutely flown by.

I was up and out very early on Saturday morning as I had to go to a speed awareness course. True to form I couldn’t find the place and went in via the golf course entrance and almost( and I stress the almost part here!)had to run. Whilst on the phone the huge unmissable hotel somehow appeared before my very eyes and thankfully I wasn’t late. I did however feel like I was about 5yrs old when I had to walk into a room where I didn’t know anyone and had the dreaded task of finding a seat at one of the tables he he.

Once that was over it was time for a quick change and then to hop on the train to take my lovely other half out for a surprise birthday treat.

As we left we couldn’t quite believe we were child free for 24hrs~with 4 lovely kiddiwinks between us getting time alone is no mean feat.

We had a fab time at the spinnaker tower and of course enjoyed a wander around Gunwharf Quays where they had such beautiful lights and decorations.

We came home and had a nice dinner and some wine which went down very well especially as I had stuck to my month of not drinking any alcohol. I must be good and stick carefully to my slimming plan again to make up for it!

The rest of the eve was very relaxing enjoying the peace and quiet, we caught up on first dates(always my favourite).

Today has been good fun, playing quiz games and organising Christmas and birthday presents too.

All too soon though it’s time to get ready for another busy week~ironing and packed lunches here I come, I can hardly contain my excitement!!

Still on a positive note I am thankful to of had such a lovely time.

Happy Sunday everyone.❤️x
